As Gogglebox Ireland prepares to celebrate its 10th anniversary, producers are searching for a brand-new cast of sofa stars to join the upcoming series on Virgin Media Television.
For the first time in a while, the show is putting a particular focus on tight-knit groups of friends in their 20s, giving younger voices the chance to represent a new generation of viewers on screen.

Since first airing in September 2016, Gogglebox Ireland has become a Wednesday night favourite, inviting audiences into the living rooms of families and friends from across the country as they share their honest, funny and often relatable reactions to the week’s biggest television moments.
Over the past decade, the series has showcased a wide range of personalities from every corner of Ireland, helping ordinary people become household names simply by being themselves.
Now, producers are hoping to bring fresh perspectives to viewers by welcoming new faces onto the nation’s sofas.
As well as recruiting groups of friends in their 20s, the casting team is also searching for a new family to join the programme. Families with younger members aged 12 and over are said to be of particular interest.

Announcing the casting call, the production team said:
“Gogglebox Ireland prides itself on reflecting all of the different people, perspectives and communities that make up Ireland as we know it, and we’re looking to do so again in the upcoming series.”
The move is an exciting opportunity for younger people to see themselves represented on one of Ireland’s biggest entertainment programmes, while continuing the show’s tradition of celebrating Irish authentic conversations, humour and family life.
