Speaking at the launch of a new housing development in Dublin 15, O'Gorman expressed concern that ongoing uncertainty about the election timeline is frustrating the public.

"I think the 29th is the date to go," said O'Gorman, while acknowledging that he has not yet formally discussed the proposal with his coalition partners. He suggested that the public is growing tired of the "will they, won't they?" atmosphere surrounding the potential election.

"Now is probably the time to provide some degree of certainty to the Irish people," he added, noting that he intends to raise the issue during a meeting with coalition leaders next Monday.

While O'Gorman's comments stop short of an official announcement, they signal growing pressure within the government to settle on an election date. With major issues like housing and economic policy at the forefront of public concern, clarity on when voters will head to the polls could be forthcoming in the near future.
