Maniac 2000 has been re-released today - and is available on streaming platforms for the first time.
The song, dubbed "Ireland's Unofficial National Anthem", is 25 years old this year and topped the charts for ten weeks when it first came out.
Up until now, The MarkMcCabe hit has been unavailable on streaming platforms.
Niall Boylan, Ireland's Classic Hits Radio host of Night Time Talk, says its no surprise:
"I'm not surprised that Mark McCabe's Maniac has become the unofficial Irish anthem. As you all know, I've been a nightclub DJ for about 30 years, and I have to say and Mark McCabe himself will admit - he took the Michael Sembello song, put a rap over it, and made this into something that's just been iconic."
He went on to speak about his own experience playing the song over the years:
"No matter what club I have worked in in the country, all you gotta do is put on Maniac and you're guaranteed to fill the floor. Still to this day, if I do a 90s night, Maniac still fills the floor every single time, and people come up and ask for it constantly.
I don't even think Mark McCabe ever realised it was going to be so popular. What a great tune."
Ireland's Classic Hits Radio jock, Phil Cawley, also remembers when Manic first took Irish nightlife by storm:
"Maniac 2000 is, without a doubt, the single greatest Irish anthem of all time.
I remember going to Temple Theatre and watching Mark McCabe doing it and seeing the place go bananas. It was never meant to be the hit that it became.
Do you know what? It's a uniquely Irish song. Ask any DJ, anywhere in Ireland doing club or weddings and they will tell you that it is the one song that you must play at the end of every night.
It's not about musical taste, it's about the people who love it and dance to it.
So me, for one, I think it's amazing, roll on Maniac 2000."
The Irish club anthem is now available on all streaming platforms, with vocals from Tipperary artist Mimi Lane.
