Gardaí in Cork are investigating following a house fire which claimed the life of a man in his 60s.
Emergency services were called to the Ardcullen area of Hollyhill at around 12:45AM this morning.
A man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene, while a woman in her 60s was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment on non-life threatening injuries.
Efforts to establish the cause of the fire are underway and the scene remains sealed off for a technical examination.
The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be carried out on the body of the man at later date.
