Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio will join 22 other independent radio stations across the country on Thursday September 24th, for One Day, Many Voices.
The special day of broadcasting will celebrate diversity, inclusion and the many different voices and experiences that make up communities across Ireland.

The national initiative, developed by Learning Waves, will see 23 independent stations put people and stories that may not always be represented on the airwaves at the centre of their programming.
The initiative is supported through Coimisiún na Meán’s Sound & Vision scheme, with funding from the Television Licence Fee.
Throughout the day, Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio will hear from people from a range of backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to share their experiences and tell their stories in their own words.
Listeners will hear from people living with disabilities, members of the migrant community, people with Down syndrome and others who can offer different perspectives on life in Ireland today.
One Day, Many Voices is about celebrating the differences within our communities, while also encouraging conversations around identity, culture, accessibility, belonging and inclusion.
The day will also highlight some of the challenges and barriers faced by people across Ireland.

Ireland’s Classic Hits Radio is taking part alongside independent stations around the country in a nationwide celebration of the role radio can play in bringing communities together and making sure people have the opportunity to be heard.
