Teenager Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash in Co. Kildare
A teenage boy has died and another has been injured following a road traffic collision in Newbridge, Co. Kildare on Wednesday night.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the scene on Barrettstown Road shortly after 8pm. The crash involved a single vehicle—a pickup truck carrying two teenage males.
The passenger, understood to be in his late teens, was taken to Naas General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The driver of the vehicle, also a teenager, was taken to Tallaght University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Barrettstown Road remains closed today as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out a technical examination of the scene. Local diversions are in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are particularly interested in speaking to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash.
