Gardaí have arrested two teenage boys following an incident involving the discharge of a firearm in Mullingar, Co. Westmeath.
The incident occurred at around 1.40pm on Monday, July 14th, at a residential property in the Ardleigh Park area. No injuries were reported.
The two youths, both in their late teens, were arrested shortly afterwards and are currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at a Garda station in the Westmeath region.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and information, particularly from anyone who was in the Ardleigh Park area between 12.30pm and 2.30pm on the day of the incident.
They are also asking road users with dash cam or other camera footage from the area during that timeframe to come forward.
