Aldi has unveiled what it’s calling the world’s first lickable pigs-in-blankets wrapping paper, adding an unexpected twist to this year’s Christmas gifting season. The limited-edition creation is designed to taste, smell and even look like the classic festive favourite, with the supermarket leaning fully into the novelty factor.

According to Aldi, the paper has been engineered to mimic the smoky, savoury flavour associated with pigs in blankets. The brand describes it as: “It captures the smoky, savoury flavour and smell of the festive treat, with stickers that peel back to reveal a truly unique, lickable experience.”
The roll has also been given a full festive makeover. As Aldi explains: “The novelty wrapping paper not only tastes and smells like delicious Pigs in Blankets, it also looks charming on presents with its pastel pink design, festive holly and snowflake patterns.” The pastel tone is inspired by the colour of the iconic Christmas side dish, while the holly and snowflakes anchor it firmly in seasonal tradition.
The product won’t be hitting supermarket shelves in the ordinary way, however. A roll of the wrapping paper will be available to claim from November 24 through an exclusive shopper competition, making it a limited treat aimed squarely at fans of quirky festive merch.
