Anne Hathaway is to star in the blockbuster, Mother Mary.
The trailer for this film, which dropped yesterday, sees Hathaway perform a song titled, 'My Mouth Is Lonely For You', which was written by FKA Twigs, and produced by Hathaway, alongside Koreless, Tobias Jesso J, Xquisite Korpse, and Jeff Bhasker. It is available across all streaming platforms.
This comes after Mother Mary had previously dropped the track, 'Burial', which was also written by Hathaway, as well as Charlie XCX and her husband, George Daniel of The 1975, as well as Jack Antonoff.
The thriller is one of a number of films starring Hathaway, including The Odyssey, The Devil Wears Prada 2, Verity and Flowervale Street.
In Mother Mary, Anne Hathaway stars as the titular popstar who abruptly ends her tour after enduring an emotional crisis, where she soon finds herself with time to reconnect with the past. At this point, she meets Sam Anselm, a fashion designer played by Michaela Coel, who is coincidentally the creative force behind Mary's public image and persona.
This now sets the tone for issues to be explored, including identity, fam and what happens when cracks soon begin to appear in the seemingly flawless facade that you can create for yourself.
Alongside Hathaway and Coel, the film will also star Euphoria's Hunter Schafar, singer FKA Twigs, as well as Chris Evans' Alba Baptista and Kaia Gerber.
Mother Mary is expected to hit the cinema screens on 17 April 2026.
