Ant and Dec launch podcast

Ant and Dec are set to team up for their first-ever podcast series together, giving fans a new way to spend time with one of Britain’s most recognisable TV duos.

The presenting pair, best known for hosting I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, Britain’s Got Talent and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, will launch the podcast Hanging Out With Ant & Dec later this month. The new series promises a relaxed and informal format, with the long-time friends chatting, reminiscing and responding directly to their audience.

According to the duo, the concept was inspired by feedback from fans. Speaking about the project, Declan Donnelly said they asked their audience what kind of podcast they would like to hear, and the response was simple. “They said they just want us to hang out,” he explained. “So that’s what we’re doing. Ant and I don’t get to hang out as much as we used to, so it’s perfect for us.”

The podcast will give listeners the chance to ask Ant and Dec for advice, revisit memorable moments from their television careers and hear behind-the-scenes anecdotes from more than three decades in entertainment. Episodes will be released every two weeks, starting on 22 January, with a bonus episode available every Monday.

Alongside the podcast, the duo have also announced the launch of a new digital entertainment channel called Belta Box. The platform will feature original content as well as curated clips from across their career, including highlights from shows such as Byker Grove, where the pair first found fame as PJ and Duncan.

Anthony McPartlin said the new venture felt like a natural progression. “We’ve spent our whole careers celebrating great entertainment, so launching Belta Box feels like the next step,” he said. “Together with the podcast, we want to create a fun, feel-good space that brings people together, wherever they’re watching or listening.”

Ant and Dec rose to prominence in the early 1990s on CBBC drama Byker Grove, before launching a successful pop career under their character names. In 2013, they scored a UK number one when their 1994 hit Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble unexpectedly returned to the charts.

Since then, they have become two of the most enduring figures on British television, fronting some of ITV’s biggest entertainment shows, including Ant and Dec’s Limitless Win.

The first episode of Hanging Out With Ant & Dec will be available from 22 January, with extended video versions also released on the Belta Box YouTube channel.
