Beginning Today, Lidl Plus users named Jessie, Jesy, Jessica, Jess, Jesse or Jessi will find a €5 celebratory voucher waiting in the “treats” section of their app. In an added twist, any user registered under the full name “Jessie Buckley” will receive a significantly larger reward: a €50 voucher. All vouchers will remain valid for seven days and can be redeemed in any of Lidl’s 190 stores across Ireland.
The promotion is designed as a nationwide toast to Buckley, whose powerful portrayal of Agnes, wife of William Shakespeare, in the film adaptation of Maggie O’Farrell’s Hamnet has earned her widespread acclaim. The 36‑year‑old Kerry actress has already secured a BAFTA, Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award for the role, and her Oscar win cements her status as one of Ireland’s most celebrated performers.
Buckley triumphed over a formidable shortlist that included Rose Byrne, Emma Stone, Renate Reinsve and Kate Hudson. Her victory drew a standing ovation as she took to the stage, marking a defining moment not only in her career but in Irish film history.
Lidl Ireland says the voucher giveaway is its way of sharing the joy of the moment with customers across the country. “This is a monumental achievement for Jessie Buckley and for Ireland,” the retailer said. “We’re delighted to celebrate her success by rewarding her namesakes nationwide.”
The offer applies strictly to Lidl Plus users whose names were already registered on the app by Friday, 6 March 2026. Standard Lidl Plus terms and conditions apply, and full details can be found within the app.
As shoppers pick up their vouchers, Lidl is encouraging customers to enjoy the celebration while stocking up on the retailer’s award‑winning produce at its signature market‑leading value.
