Barry Keoghan has hailed his fellow Beatles biopics co stars as his "brothers".
The Saltburn star is to play Ringo Starr in Sam Mendes forthcoming biopics on the Fab Four which are scheduled for released in 2028. Keoghan will star alongside fellow Irish actor Paul Mescal, who will play Paul McCartney, with Harris Dickinson and Joseph Quinn to play John Lennon and George Harrison respectively.
Keoghan was discussing these biopics with The Julia Cunningham Show on Sirius XM, where he spoke about the unique format that these films will follow.
“It’s going to be an event and you know and we knew that coming on board” he said. “What an exciting event to be part of, and no better filmmaker to do it than Sam, you know, so I’m having an absolute f****** brilliant time and elevating my craft and, you know, making brothers as well on set".
Keoghan made these comments while promoting the upcoming Peaky Blinders spin off movie, Immortal Man, where he will star alongside fellow Irish actor, Cillian Murphy, who will reprise his role as Tommy Shelby.
The Dublin native also spoke about another film which he has earned critical acclaim for, Saltburn, a film which featured Sophie Ellis-Bextor's track, 'Murder On The Dancefloor'.
In the interview, Keoghan revealed that this track has following him around since the film was released in 2023.
“They played it three times at the Vanity Fair (Oscars party)” he said. “I was like, ‘Okay. We get it.’ Honestly, three times. You know, I was like, ‘What are they doing?’”.
This comes after Barry Keoghan had also recently addressed rumours that he was to become the next James Bond.
Speculation has cranked up regarding who will replace Daniel Craig as the suave 007 agent, with Keoghan's name mentioned along with Cillian Murphy, as well as Jacob Elordi, Callum Turner and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
However, Keoghan was quick to shoot down such rumours.
"(James Bond is) an iconic role and a lot of weight and pressure comes with that", Keoghan told the Radio Times in a previous interview. "It’s nice to see your name go up there, but I don’t think I fit the criteria for James Bond".
He continued: "I’d rather come in and do the villain. The man teasing Bond, that’s more me".
