Big Little Lies is to return for a third season, it has been confirmed.
This was confirmed by the show's executive producer and star Reese Witherspoon, after appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
"We might be working on Season 3'. Yeah, I mean they're writing it", she said.
The HBO show has confirmed that they have hired executive producer and showrunner Frances Sloane to write the opening episode for this season. It has been reported that the Mr and Mrs Smith star is working to create a premium first episode of the show.
Sloane will be working with creator David E Kelley, alongside Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman. This would also appear to confirm that Liane Moriarty's sequel book is also on the way, with creators set to work with her to release the thriller's next instalment.
Moriarty is to scribe the material for this new season. However, it will not include director Jean-Marie Vallée, who sadly passed away in 2021.
Big Little Lies has received critical acclaim for its work over the passed two seasons, with season one winning 8 out of 16 Emmy Award nominations, including Outstanding Limited Series.
Back in February, Reese Witherspoon had confirmed that Lexi Minetree would play a young Elle Woods in a prequel series of Legally Blonde. More on this here.
