Claudia Winkleman’s new BBC chat show is already setting a distinctive tone — and it comes with a surprisingly strict rule for anyone hoping to sit in the studio audience.
The presenter’s upcoming series, The Claudia Winkleman Show, will launch on BBC One on Friday, 13 March at 10.40pm, marking the latest major project for one of the broadcaster’s most recognisable faces.
However, anyone attending the recordings has been warned that casual clothing will not make the cut.
Audience ticket company SRO Audiences, which distributes tickets for many popular UK television programmes, has shared a clear instruction for fans hoping to attend the studio recordings.
“We’re asking everyone to dress to impress – we don’t want to see any tracksuits or puffer gilets; we’d like to look out at a sea of people dressed for a big night out with Claudia!”
The rule is designed to give the programme a glamorous, night-out atmosphere, in keeping with the show’s entertainment format and Winkleman’s trademark stylish presentation.
Filming for the series has already begun, with the first episode recorded on 2 March. Further recordings are scheduled for 16 March, 24 March, 31 March, 8 April, and 15 April, suggesting the initial run will consist of several episodes filmed across the spring.

According to the ticket listing, the programme aims to combine celebrity interviews with lively audience interaction.
“The Claudia Winkleman Show will see Claudia showcasing her contagious charm to interview both Hollywood stars and the best of British. But celebrities are not the only people Claudia is embracing on this show, she will also be conversing with the audience, so if you want the opportunity to have a chat with Claudia and possibly be on TV, then this is the show for you.”
The line-up for the first episode already reflects that international mix of guests. Among those appearing are Hollywood actor Jeff Goldblum, Absolutely Fabulous star Jennifer Saunders, comedian Tom Allen, and Vanessa Williams, known to many for her role in The Devil Wears Prada.
The new programme marks another high-profile role for Winkleman, who has become one of the BBC’s most popular presenters in recent years. She is already widely known for hosting Strictly Come Dancing alongside Tess Daly, as well as fronting the hugely successful reality competition The Traitors, which has become one of the broadcaster’s biggest hits in the UK and Ireland.

Her distinctive presenting style — combining sharp humour, self-deprecation and a slightly chaotic energy — has made her a fan favourite, and BBC executives are hoping the new chat show will build on that popularity.
Traditional Friday night chat shows have long been a staple of British television, with programmes such as The Graham Norton Show drawing large audiences through a mix of celebrity interviews, comedy and unpredictable moments.

By encouraging audience members to dress up and actively participate in the show, The Claudia Winkleman Show appears to be aiming for a similar sense of fun and spectacle — while leaning heavily on Winkleman’s personality to drive the conversation.
For fans lucky enough to secure a ticket, the message is clear: if you want a seat in the studio, leave the tracksuit at home and come dressed for a proper night out.
