Fresh off the premiere of their new film A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, Irish star Colin Farrell gushed that he would “love” to work with costar Margot Robbie again, calling her “magic.”
The film, directed by the ever-stylish Kogonada, pairs up Farrell as David and Robbie as Sarah, who meet at a friend’s wedding and set off on—you guessed it—a big, bold, beautiful journey. But for Farrell, the magic wasn’t just on screen. He revealed that their rehearsal process was unlike anything he’d done before. Forget scripts and stiff read-throughs—he and Robbie spent the first three days just talking about life, family, and relationships. No games, no small talk, just two actors opening up and clicking instantly. Farrell admitted it felt “organically familiar from the start,” which is probably why their chemistry is so palpable.
And it wasn’t just the stars feeling the vibe. Even the crew got emotionally invested while shooting, with team members confessing they were swept up in the story as it unfolded. Add in a stellar supporting cast, including Fleabag Star Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Kevin Kline, and you’ve got a set that Farrell described as having “a really amazing vibe.”
