Coronation Street have confirmed five characters that could be murdered in a flash forward episode.
This flash forward episode, which aired last night, opened with a police interview taking place on April 23, with Betsy Swain being spoken to by detectives about finding the dead body of someone she knows. The characters who are in danger of being killed include Megan Walsh (played by Beth Nixon), Theo Silverton (James Cartwright), Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn), Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) and Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) .
Following this, the episode returned to present day, showing viewers how the potential murder victims who could have been targeted.
Carl Webster has been struggling since letting Debbie Webster take the blame for the Corriedale accident, which caused the death of popular character, Billy Mayhew, played by Daniel Brocklebank, Carl has also been struggling since discovering that Debbie is his mother and not his sister.
Megan Walsh has been caught in a web of lies, as she grooms teenager, Will Driscoll, while his grandmother Maggie could be at risk of discovering the truth about this inappropriate relationship.
Elsewhere, Theo Silverton could be in danger. His coercive control over boyfriend Todd Grimshaw could lead to him getting an unfortunate comeuppance, while Shona Platt's estranged sister, Jodie has been welcomed into the Platt family, but she has been keeping secrets from them.
However, one character who is not in danger of being murdered is Ken Barlow, played by William Roach, after ITV effectively offered the 93 year old actor a job for life as he wishes to remain on the soap.
Roche had first portrayed Ken Barlow in the show's first ever episode in 1960, Roche was even officially recognised by Guinness World Records, establishing himself as one of the most enduring figures on worldwide TV.
I mean, it would be a brave producer team that took that decision,", Corrie producer Ian McLeod said on the possibility of Ken Barlow being killed off, before adding that the actor can "absolutely" stay on the show for as long as he wants, ruling any possibility of being killed off.
