Coronation Street star Beth Nixon has confirmed her departure from the show, having played a role which she said "changed my life".
This comes after Nixon's character, Megan Walsh was found guilty of sexually grooming her long time victim, Will Driscoll, and sent to prison as a result. Will was played by Lucas Hodgson-Wale.
Nixon, who played the role of the evil child groomer in the show, confirmed her exit with a series of images on Instagram.
"Megan, you’re a cow, and I’ll miss you like a hole in the head", Nixon wrote. "Thank you thank you thank you to every single person at @coronationstreet, you’ve changed my life! Peace out".

As you could imagine, Nixon's post was met with a huge number of well wishes and messages of love in the comment section.
Catherine Tyldesley, who plays Eva Price in the show, commented: "We love you! Outstanding!!!!", while Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy Swain in the show added: "You are just incredible. Can’t wait to watch you soar xxx".
Jude Riordan who plays Nixon's former on screen rival, Sam Blakeman, said: "Yes Beth", while Olivia Frances-Brown who plays Jodie Ramsey wrote: "SMASHED IT!!!".
Elsewhere, fans also commented under Nixon's post, with one adding: "Aw, whilst it was the right ending for Megan, sad to see you go! Best of luck with what’s next and well done for your stint on the cobbles".
Another fan said: "What a beautiful human you are, you played this storyline AMAZINGLY, your talent will take you a long way, best of luck for the future Beth".
Along with commenting under her post, Jude Riordan whose character who also suffered at the hands of Megan, who had threatened him on multiple occasions in the show, shared a series of images of the pair on his own Instagram account.
"FRIENDS REALLY! I really enjoyed working with Beth. Megan really tormented Sam and pushed him right over the edge, but shows what a great baddie she is!", Riordan wrote.
