Earlier this week, NY Times reporter Maggie Haberman said that a notice had been sent out last week in the build up to these performances. These sets were part of two dinner events at the club.
The memo stated, “Great music will be played during dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings, with President Trump playing the role of disc jockey".
It added, “The music will be amazing, it will be lots of fun, and will go until the late evening. For those who will be unable to be seated, the bar will be open for drinks. We look forward to seeing everyone again very soon!”.
It was signed, “President Donald J. Trump”.
The playlists for these sets will not be shared by Trump on social media after he was banned from the outlets including Facebook and Instagram in January 2021 following fears that his posts on social media appeared to encourage the violence of the Capitol Riots.
