Halle Berry has opened up about finding love again — and this time, she says, it feels different.
The Oscar-winning actress confirmed she is engaged to musician and producer Van Hunt, proudly showing off her sparkling diamond ring during a new interview with Entertainment Tonight just hours ago. Beaming as she discussed her fourth engagement, Berry didn’t shy away from addressing her romantic history.
“Fourth time is the new charm.” she said, while flashing her gorgeous engagement ring — or should we say, rock...
Berry, now 59, has had a highly publicised love life over the years. She was previously married to former baseball player David Justice from 1993 to 1997, then to musician Eric Benét from 2001 to 2005. Her third marriage was to French actor Olivier Martinez, whom she wed in 2013 before they divorced in 2016. She also shares two children — daughter Nahla, whom she shares with model Gabriel Aubry, and son Maceo, with Martinez.
Despite her past heartbreaks, Berry says this relationship came at exactly the right time.

When asked what she sees in Hunt, she replied: “It's just timing in life. We both were ready. I didn;t think I'd find real love at 54 but it's possible. We're both mature. We're ready for this relationship that we have. And a second sooner, I don't think either of us would have been ready. It all happens on divine timing.”
The couple first went public with their relationship in 2020, during the height of the pandemic. Berry later described their connection as something that developed slowly and organically, built on friendship before romance. Over the past few years, she has frequently shared glimpses of their life together on social media, often describing Hunt as her “person.”
In previous interviews, Berry has spoken candidly about the lessons she learned from her earlier marriages, admitting she once felt pressure to follow a traditional path. Over time, she has said she realised that fulfilment doesn’t come from simply being married, but from being aligned with the right partner. Her latest comments suggest she believes she has now found that alignment.
Professionally, Berry remains as driven as ever. She is currently promoting her new crime thriller Crime 101, one of the most anticipated projects of her recent career. The film, based on the acclaimed novella by Don Winslow, sees Berry starring alongside Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Barry Keoghan. The story centres on a series of high-level jewel heists along the Pacific Coast Highway, with law enforcement attempting to outmanoeuvre a meticulous thief operating under a strict personal code known as “Crime 101.”
The project marks another bold move for Berry, who has consistently sought out roles that push her beyond conventional expectations. From becoming the first Black woman to win the Academy Award for Best Actress for Monster’s Ball in 2002, to leading action franchises such as X-Men and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Berry has repeatedly reinvented herself across genres.
In recent years, she has also stepped behind the camera, making her directorial debut with Bruised in 2020, a gritty MMA drama in which she also starred. The film was praised for its emotional depth and physical intensity, reinforcing her reputation as an artist unafraid to take risks.
Now, balancing a thriving career with a deeply personal new chapter, Berry appears to be entering what she describes as a season of clarity.
Her words about timing resonated widely online within hours of the interview airing, with fans praising her honesty about love later in life. In an industry that often places unrealistic expectations on women — particularly around age — Berry’s message was simple but powerful: love does not operate on a deadline.
After three marriages and years of public scrutiny, she seems confident in where she stands today.
