A group of thieves broke into the home of former football manager Harry Redknapp, stealing his wife Sandra's jewellery.
According to reports, this break in happened just days after Sandra had been hospitalised. The couple were not in the house at time, as the hammer wielding thieves stole Sandra's jewellery, as well as other items.
It has been feared that the robbers knew about the layout of the house due to it being listed for sale, with the floor plans included. The house which is located in Dorset, near the Sandbanks resort, is being valued at around £5 million.
CCTV footage captured the gang breaking into the home using hammers to break down the front door.
"The raiders were all masked up. They used lump hammers and a sledgehammer to smash the front door open", a source told The Sun. "They were caught on CCTV cameras breaking in and trying to ransack the property looking for valuables. It was clearly organised and they must have known the house was empty at the time".
It has been reported that Harry Redknapp "doesn't want to make a fuss", and did not want to comment on the stolen items.
It remains unclear why Sandra Redknapp was in hospital, having previously suffered from breathing difficulties following a battle with COVID. She was also previously diagnosed with ovarian cancer and sepsis.
