According to Deadline, the Oscar-nominated actress is in the early talks to appear on the next season of the drama series.
It remains unclear how far in the process she is, however, if she is confirmed she will be the first star to sign ahead of the reported spring production date. The next season of the series is set to be filmed in France.
According to Dealine, no official cast announcements have been made, however, “exclusive conversations are under way” between HBO and Bonham Carter.
The basis of the show is that they follow guests around different branches of the fictional chain of White Lotus hotels, with each season taking on a murder mystery format. The White Lotus has already seen celebrities such as Jennifer Coolidge, Natasha Rothwell and Aimee Lou Wood star in the series.
After the release of season three, fans speculated that there was some sort of on set drama between cast members. Jason Issac reportedly hit back at these claims as he told Los Angeles Times, “So I’ve said a few times, ‘You make friends. You lose friends, romances or whatever; things happen between departments and all the backstage drama that we’re all used to. Well, the online world went mad trying to deconstruct, trying to work out who knew who and who was [doing what].”
Speculation also arose that there was drama between season three's Aimme Lou Wood and Walton Goggins as Goggins praised a controversial SNL skit that mocked Wood's appearance. The pair hit back at these rumours as Wood called the rumours "irrelevant” and Goggins stated that the pair care about eachother "very deeply."
Wood, despite the reaction to her repsonse, she said that she did not regret calling out the sketch, saying that it was "mean and unfunny."
According to NME, Wood stated: “No matter what chaos came from it, I’m still happy for me and my personal journey that I said something.”
