Virgin Media Television has announced the launch of a brand-new series, I’m A Celebrity…The Wild Frontier, set to bring a fresh twist to the hugely popular I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! franchise.
The new series will be filmed in the rugged Canadian wilderness and is due to launch in 2027 on Virgin Media PLAY and Virgin Media One.
Award-winning presenters Ant and Dec will host the series, which introduces a major change to the familiar format. Instead of competing alone, celebrities will take part in pairs, teaming up with a relative, loved one, best friend or another famous face.
Ant said the new show will offer viewers something they have never seen before, promising a brand-new format packed with “twists and surprises”.
Dec added that the series will also retain some of the elements that have made the Australian version so popular, telling viewers to “buckle up” for what he described as a brilliant new series.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of Canada’s untamed wilderness, the celebrity pairs will face gruelling trials and action-packed challenges as they battle to secure food and survive the competition.
The duos will eat, compete and face elimination together, meaning their fate will be closely linked throughout the series.
As the competition progresses, the pairs will be whittled down until only one remains.
Following weeks of challenges, shocks and survival, viewers will have the final say. The public will vote to decide which duo is crowned the winners in a live grand final broadcast from London.
