Keira Knightley has teamed up with comedian Joe Wilkinson for Waitrose’s 2025 Christmas advert and it just beat out all the other food shops!
The heartwarming four-minute romantic comedy that celebrates love and of course food is sure to bring festive cheer and is directed by BAFTA-winning filmmaker Molly Manners.
The story follows Wilkinson as Phil, a sweet-natured singleton who overcomes his shyness to woo Knightley’s equally lovelorn character.
Waitrose’s Chief Customer Officer, Nathan Ansell, described the campaign as 'an industry first,' blending the charm of seasonal romantic comedies with the brand’s premium festive food offerings.

'Our four-minute Christmas film pays homage to the seasonal romantic comedy tradition, celebrates the exciting and elevated Waitrose festive food offering, and adds a little more of that warm, fuzzy feeling to the holiday season,' he said.

Director Molly Manners praised the unique chemistry between Knightley and Wilkinson and said: 'We had such a great time making the perfect miniature romcom with food as a love language deep at its heart. I hope they knock your socks clean off, as they did mine.'
This festive campaign is the clear winner in our eyes out of this years Christmas ad and perhaps will leave viewers craving a trip to their local cheese counter!
