A woman who is known as the 'Ketamine Queen' has pleaded guilty to selling the drugs which caused the death of Friends star, Matthew Perry.
The accused, Jasveen Sangha, whose trial has been scheduled for later this month, has pleased guilty to five federal charges, including supplying the ketamine which led to the death of Mr Perry. Sangha is the fifth an final defendant who has been charged in Perry's overdose to admit issue a guilty plea.
In court, Sangha stood beside next to her attorney, Mark Geragos as she pleaded guilty to her five charges in front of judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett, who asked for her pleas at the US district court.
Prior to that, having said "yes, your honour", to dozens of procedural questions, Ms Sangha issued this response when asked if she knew that the drugs she was supplying to co-defendant and middleman Erik Fleming were going to Perry.
"There was no way I could tell 100%," she said. She later added, to a similar question on vials of ketamine she gave to Fleming, that "I didn’t know if all of them or some of them" were bound for Perry. The comments did not affect her plea agreement.
Matthew Perry's mother Suzanne and his stepfather, Keith Morrison, a reporter for Dateline, sat in attendance for the first time since the indictments were first announced.
Back in July, Salvador Plascencia, a California doctor, who was charged in connection with Perry's death, also pleaded guilty to illegally distributing the prescription anesthetic ketamine to the late Friends actor Matthew Perry. More on this here.
