Barbie has teamed up once again with global pop icon Kylie Minogue to launch a brand-new Barbie Signature Collector Doll inspired by her smash hit Padam Padam.
The collectible doll celebrates the legendary singer and is modelled on her instantly recognisable look from the Padam Padam music video — a moment that marked a major resurgence in Kylie’s decades-long career and introduced her to a new generation of fans during the Tension era.
Dressed head-to-toe in striking red, the doll pays tribute to the global icon's glittering career and record-breaking legacy. From the structured red gown to the statement silhouette, every detail mirrors the bold aesthetic that defined the video, which became a viral sensation upon its release in 2023. The doll also features the same red lace-up boots Kylie wore in the music video, a fashion choice that quickly became synonymous with the era.

Kylie appeared over the moon as she proudly posed with the new collector's doll, holding the miniature version of herself with visible pride.
Speaking about the collaboration, Kylie said: 'Seeing this doll come to life has been really special.'
'The response to the one-of-a-kind Barbie Role Model was overwhelming, so I was excited to team up with Mattel again and I can’t wait to see Kylie Barbie out in the wild!'
'Connection has always been at the heart of everything I do, and sharing the joy and fun of the Tension era with people across the globe has been an incredible experience.'
'From the spark of Padam Padam through to the Tension albums and world tour, this Barbie feels like a perfect snapshot of that time.'
This isn’t the first time Barbie has honoured a global superstar. Over the years, the brand has created dolls inspired by some of the world’s biggest names across music, film and fashion.
In recent years, the Barbie Signature and Tribute collections have celebrated artists including David Bowie, whose Ziggy Stardust-era doll became a must-have for collectors, as well as Tina Turner, whose doll recreated her iconic ’80s stage look complete with denim jacket and powerhouse presence.

Film and television icons have also been immortalised in plastic. Dolls inspired by Barbie director and star collaborations brought renewed attention to the brand following the blockbuster success of the 2023 movie, which starred Margot Robbie in the titular role. The film not only broke box office records but also reshaped public perception of Barbie, presenting her as a more self-aware and culturally reflective figure.
Other notable celebrity dolls have included Beyoncé (in various limited-edition forms), Elton John, whose flamboyant Dodger Stadium look was recreated in doll form, and fashion legend Vera Wang, who received her own Barbie as part of the brand’s tribute series.

The Kylie launch also sits within a broader evolution for Barbie. For decades, the brand faced widespread criticism for promoting unrealistic beauty standards — often portraying thin, blonde, white dolls that many argued did not reflect the diversity of real girls’ lives. Campaigners and parents alike questioned the impact such narrow representations could have on body image and self-esteem.
Over the past 15 years, however, Mattel has made significant efforts to reposition Barbie as a more inclusive brand. In 2016, the company introduced new body types — including tall, petite and curvy dolls — in a move widely seen as a turning point. The Fashionistas line has since expanded to include dolls with different skin tones, hair textures, and physical abilities.
Among the most talked-about additions were Barbie dolls with wheelchairs and prosthetic limbs, as well as a blind Barbie created in collaboration with organisations supporting visually impaired communities. There have also been dolls with hearing aids, vitiligo and Down syndrome, reflecting a conscious shift toward inclusivity and representation.

Barbie has additionally spotlighted women in STEM, politics and sport through its Role Model and Career lines. Astronaut Barbie, pilot Barbie, scientist Barbie and even presidential candidates have all featured in efforts to show young girls that they can pursue any path. These initiatives have been positioned as a direct response to earlier criticism and as part of a broader brand reinvention.

The release of the Kylie Minogue collector’s doll reflects both strands of Barbie’s identity today — the celebration of pop culture icons and the push toward broader cultural relevance. Kylie herself has long been regarded as a trailblazer in music, particularly within the LGBTQ+ community, and the success of Padam Padam reaffirmed her global impact decades into her career.
Now, that cultural moment has been captured in miniature form.
For collectors, it’s another high-profile addition to the Barbie Signature line. For Kylie fans, it’s a tangible keepsake from one of the most celebrated chapters of her career. And for Barbie, it’s further evidence of how the brand continues to evolve — balancing nostalgia, celebrity culture and a modern push for inclusivity.
With Kylie Barbie set to hit shelves, it’s clear that the Padam Padam phenomenon is far from over.
