Liam Payne's ex partner, Cheryl Tweedy has been named as administrator of the late singer's £24 million estate, after the singer died without making a will.

The former One Direction singer died following a fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina last October. He was 31 years old. The Argentinian prosecutor's office had revealed that his cause of death was due to multiple traumas, as well as internal and external bleeding. More on this here.

Liam Payne and Cheryl Tweedy were in a relationship from 2016 to 2018, and welcomed the arrival of their son Bear in March 2017.

According to UK law, if a person dies without making a will, their spouse and their children are first to inherit. In this case, Cheryl Tweedy, who is Bear's legal guardian, is now responsible for Payne's money, property and possessions. Richard Mark Berry, a music industry lawyer, has also been named as an administrator.

Court documents state that the gross value of Payne's estate stands at £28,594,888, while the net value after expenses and debts is£24,279,728.

Back in March, Liam Payne's girlfriend Kate Cassidy said that she is still struggling to come to terms with his death.

Last month, Payne's sister Ruth Gibbons also paid tribute to her brother, marking the sixth month anniversary of his death. More on this here.
