A new documentary about Lily Allen is set to arrive in 2027, promising an intimate look at the singer's life and career.
The as-yet-untitled film will stream on Prime Video and receive a global cinema release. It follows the release of Allen's latest album, West End Girl.

According to a press release, the documentary will be directed by Mat Whitecross, who previously made the acclaimed music documentaries Oasis: Supersonic and Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams.
It will explore her "extraordinary journey, from the 'Queen of MySpace' who changed the rules of the music industry, to the cultural force she is today."
The documentary will also highlight her influence on modern pop music, describing her as "a pioneering woman in modern music" whose "sharp wit and candid storytelling directly paved the way for a generation of today's biggest female artists."

Featuring interviews with people who know Allen best, the film is described as "a story of resilience, reinvention, and an artist reclaiming her narrative on her own terms. This is Lily Allen as she's never been seen before. Raw, real, and redefining what it means to thrive in the spotlight."
Allen first found fame after posting demos on MySpace before releasing her debut album, Alright, Still, in 2006, which featured the UK number one single Smile. She went on to release It's Not Me, It's You, Sheezus, No Shame and, most recently, West End Girl.
In addition to her music career, she made her West End acting debut in 2:22 A Ghost Story in 2021.

Her latest album draws heavily on the breakdown of her marriage to David Harbour, whom she married in 2020 before the couple separated in 2025. The record includes songs that reference the end of their relationship and alleged infidelity.
Speaking previously to Variety, Harbour said the album did not reflect his own experience.
"It was weird. I do believe that it is the privilege of every artist to use their experience to create art, and so I respect her for doing that."

Allen also made headlines earlier this year during the opening night of her West End Girl tour in Glasgow, when she wore a dress printed with shopping receipts, text messages and handwritten lyrics during a performance of 4Chan Stan.
Fans dubbed it the ultimate "revenge dress", with the theatrical costume reflecting the themes of heartbreak and betrayal explored throughout her latest album.
