Nicole Kidman is to star alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in a new crime thriller as part of a star studded cast.
The thriller series, Scarpetta, which premieres on March 11, will see Kidman star as a medical examiner, Kay Scarpetta, with Curtis playing her sister, Dorothy Farinelli. It is based on American crime writer, Patricia Cornwell's best selling Kay Scarpetta novels, which has sold over 120 million copies worldwide since they arrived on the book shelves in 1990.
It will explore Scarpetta's journey from her beginnings as a chief medical examiner in the late 1990s to her return to her hometown where she resumes her position while investigating a murder.
Scarpetta also stars Bobby Cannavale, who plays Detective Pete Marino, while Simon Baker will play FBI profiler Benton Wesley, while Scarpetta's tech-savvy nice, Lucy Farinelli Watson. It will also see Rosy McEwen, Amanada Righetti, Jake Bannavale, and Hunter Parish play past versions of Kidman, Curtis Cannavale and Baker's characters respectively. Jake Cannavale is Bobby Cannavale's son.
"With skilled hands and an unnerving eye, this unrelenting medical examiner is determined to serve as the voice of the victims, unmask a serial killer, and prove that her career-making case from 28 years prior isn’t also her undoing", producers have said.

News of this thriller series comes weeks after Nicole Kidman and her ex husband Keith Urban had finalised their divorce.
The former couple have agreed to waive all rights to child and spousal support. Neither party will pay child support, citing monthly income exceeds $100,000 each. It was also confirmed that the former couple's teenage daughters will stay with Kidman for 306 days of the year, with Urban allowed access "every other weekend" with them.
This comes after they had announced their separation last September after 19 years of marriage. More on this story here.
