Simon Cowell is to search for the next boyband in a new Netflix docuseries.
The show, Simon Cowell: The Next Act, will see the music mogul hold open casting calls before releasing the debut single of a new music group. Running for six episodes, the docuseries will arrive on Netflix in December 2025.
Simon Cowell, whose production company, Syco Entertainment was key to the success of shows The X Factor, Britain's Got Talent, and The Greatest Dancer, had announced plans to launch anew pop group in June last year.
"I would pray to find a band as good as One Direction and to find the records as good as they made. There are so many factors involved to make a band successful all over the world", Cowell said of this project. The search for the next boyband was documented by TV crew Box to Box Films, the company which also inspired Formula 1: Drive To Survive.
Cowell has also been renowned for launching the careers of bands like One Direction, Fifth Harmony and Little Mix.
