Talk Show Host Jerry Springer Dies Aged 79

US talk show host Jerry Springer has died aged 79, it has been confirmed.

The presenter was renowned for hosting his own TV series The Jerry Springer Show, which ran from 1981 to 2003 in the US. The show went on to inspire the rise of The Jeremy Kyle Show, which itself ran from 2005 to 2019 in Britain.

Springer was also known for signing off each episode of the show, by telling his audience to “Take care of yourself, and each other". 

Before The Jerry Springer Show, the TV host also worked as a political reporter and commentator. He also served as mayor of Cincinnati, as well as a political campaign advisor for Robert F Kennedy.
