At the Video Music Awards, Taylor Swift paid a moving tribute to Dolly Parton, whom she described as the "ultimate showgirl".
This comes after Swift won Video of the Year for her track, The Fate of Ophelia, which she dedicated to the late Dolly Parton at the ceremony in Los Angeles last night.
While accepting the award, Swift hailed Parton as a storyteller whose music was "so vivid and so rich".
"I think that we were all very lucky to share this planet with Dolly Parton for a time", Swift told the crowd after receiving her award. (Quotes according to RTÉ).
On the night, Swift won three awards, which also included the accolade for Best Direction for Opalite and the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors, recognising her work behind the camera.
These wins brought her career total for 33, which moved her ahead of Beyoncé, with whom she had previously been neck and neck with on 30.
Elsewhere, the ceremony also saw Taylor Swift's music video for Patient Zero premiere, which features actors Colin Farrell and Dakota Johnson as a couple in a toxic relationship. The video was also directed by Swift. Check out Patient Zero and more here.
On the night, Dolly Parton who passed away in August aged 80, was also remembered with a live performance of I Will Always Love You by Kacey Musgraves.
The song was written and recorded by Parton during the 1970s, before Whitney Houston's renowned cover of the track became a worldwide hit after it featured in the 1992 film, The Bodyguard, where Whitney Houston co starred alongside Kevin Costner.
Last week, U2 announced the release of their new album, Carnaval De Luz, which featured a duet between Dolly Parton and lead singer, Bono, Torn. This turned out to be the last recording from Parton before her death in August. More on this here.
