The Traitors winner Rachel Duffy has revealed she has had a 'rough couple of weeks' after winning the hit BBC show.
The Newry native won the series with fellow traitor Stephen Libby, taking home the prize pot of £95,750 in total. Rachel was the first female traitor to win in the history of the show.
But soon after Rachel had won the show, she received a call from her family telling her that her mother, Anne - who was diagnosed with Parkinson's and dementia -, had taken a turn for the worse and she needed to come home straight away.
Rachel said she loved The Traitors and used to call Rachel to ask her who she murdered on the show before the episode aired.
'She loved it so much. Sometimes I would go and visit her in the nursing home, and she'd be re watching the episodes and she'd say I just love watching you on TV. So she was really, really proud.
'She'd ring me and she's like, "who did you murder?" I'm like, "Mum, I can't tell you".
'But she loved it, and I spoke to her after I won, and she was really proud. So it's a privilege to talk about her.'
' I think the family have all signed up, so we have to go and get the running shoes. We want to go and do it and raise money for a really good cause.
'I don't think I'll run with my cloak, it's a bit warm,' she said jokingly.
Speaking to BBC News NI following her win, she said she was looking forward to treating her family, and her mum in particular.
'I rang my mummy this morning… I can't wait to come home and give her a big hug and say what will we do? Anything you want let's go do it. As long as I get to spoil my family that's all I care about,' she added at the time.
