US journalist Savannah Guthrie has returned to work, more than months after her mother's kidnapping.
This happened after the TV reporter's mother was taken from her home in Arizona in an unresolved kidnapping, when an armed man wearing a ski mask was recorded tampering with Guthrie's mother's doorbell before she disappeared.
Savanah and her family including her siblings later issued pleas for mother's return, even offering a $1 million reward. However, she has yet to be found.
Back in February, Savanah Guthrie shared a recorded video, where she said she and her family was "blowing on the embers of hope" that Nancy Guthrie was still alive, but she acknowledged that "she may already be gone".
Guthrie, who co anchors NBC's Today Show, returned to her role, having last been seen at her anchor's desk in early January. The reporter soon launched into the headlines, including the US war on Iran, the Artemis II astronauts' travelling to the far side of the moon, before mentioning her absence from the show over the last two months.
"We are so glad you started your week with us, and it is good be home," Guthrie said.
At this point, her co-anchor Craig Melvin said while tapping Guthrie's hands: "Yes, it is good to have you back at home", to which Guthrie replied: "Well, here we go, ready or not, let's do the news".
Savanah Guthrie has worked on the Today Show for almost 14 years, having first appeared on the show as a presenter in 2012.
