Model and influencer Shauna Lindsay has shared the terrifying moment she suffered a stroke during a boxing class earlier in the month.
The Limerick native took to social media last week to detail the ‘series of unfortunate events’ she has been going through in recent months.
Shauna revealed how she went through a ‘traumatic breakup’ at the start of summer, which quickly became the least of her worries.
The 30-year-old’s mother was recently diagnosed with cancer, which she said was ‘tough.’
Despite being the fittest and healthiest she’s ever been, Shauna then suffered a stroke during a boxing class, which led her to spending eight days in hospital.
Following a string of tests, the influencer was told she had a hole in her heart, with a surgery scheduled for December.
On Sunday, Shauna took to Instagram to share video footage of the exact moment she suffered the stroke, as she detailed how to detect a stroke.
The clip sees Shauna doing a string of boxing combinations before her right arm goes completely limp. Shauna then crouches down, holding onto her arm, before she gets up and walks away.
The footage also captures the young woman’s face drooping, another feature of strokes.
‘It might not look like much is happening but it’s mad what can be going on inside our bodies that we’ve no idea about,’ Shauna wrote, ‘I can’t tell you how scary this moment was… sharing for educational/ curiosity purposes.
‘My arm & face went back to normal after 30 seconds (I wouldn’t have known my face dropped if it wasn’t for this video as I ran to the bathroom, nobody actually seen that).’
Shauna added that it was when she went to the bathroom that her speech went, which lasted around half an hour.

She advised: ‘If you ever experience any of the symptoms, please get to a hospital FAST. F – facial drooping. A – arm weakness/ numbness. S – speech difficulties. T – time to get help.
‘I also know from talking to people, a lot experienced vision problems and balance issues too!’
