We must have watched Toy Story hundreds of times, and it remains a childhood favourite, so you can bet we're excited to see the animated film coming back for a fifth outing.
This time, Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the gang are joined by a new addition who threatens the toys' very existence.
For the film's fifth outing, the characters are taking on a very modern question: Is the age of toys over? With that in mind (and hopefully a no answer!), here's what we know about the new Toy Story 5 movie...

The latest character is a smart tablet called Lilypad, a high-tech frog-shaped smart tablet voiced by Past Lives star Greta Lee, who quickly becomes the new obsession in the playroom.
In the trailer for Toy Story 5, Bonnie, the little girl who adopted the toys from Andy at the end of the third movie, is seen opening a package and taking out Lilypad, who declares, 'Let’s play!'
At Disney’s D23 expo in August 2024, he added: 'In Toy Story 5, the toys’ jobs get exponentially harder when our toy crew goes head to head with what kids are obsessed with today: electronics.'

While all the toys are back in Toy Story 5, yes, even Woody, who at the end of Toy Story 4 left his pals to start a new life with Little Bo Peep, there'll be a special focus on Jessie.
Tim Allen, who voices Buzz Lightyear, told WIVB in April 2025: 'I can tell you that it’s a lot about Jessie.
'Tom [Hanks] and I do — Woody and I — do realign. And there’s an unbelievable opening scene with Buzz Lightyear. I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.'
Toy Story 5 is set to arrive in cinemas on June 19. All the other Toy Story movies are on Disney+... we feel a rewatch coming on!
