Steven Spielberg has delved deep into the world of aliens once more. He's back, and totally on form with his upcoming film Disclosure Day.
The 2026 movie marks the renowned director's, celebrated for War of the Worlds, ET, and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, first film since 2022's semi-autobiographical drama The Fabelmans, which gained seven Oscar nominations.
So, just what do we know about the project, which boasts a seriously starry cast?
Koepp called the film 'a very emotional experience'.

Emily Blunt leads the cast as a Kansas City weather presenter who, in the teaser trailer for the film, begins making strange alien-like sounds while on air.
Meanwhile, we see Colin Firth's character wired up to a machine, looking distressed. The Crown actor Josh O'Connor, who is dating Irish actress Alison Oliver, portrays a truth-seeking character, determined to give 'full disclosure to the whole world, all at once'.

We also spotted our very own Eve Hewson, fresh off the back of her appearance in Adam Sandler and George Clooney's Netflix film, Jay Kelly, in the teaser trailer.
Colman Domingo, who stars in Netflix's Four Seasons, also stars in the upcoming film.

In a recent interview, Josh O'Connor gushed: 'It’s like old-school Spielberg. I think people will be excited.'
Elsewhere, before filming started, Colman Domingo said: 'I finished reading the script, and I bawled. I thought it was one of the most beautiful scripts about our humanity.

'I think it was just the most beautiful film about our humanity, and I literally cried because Steven Spielberg believes in the possibility of the human beings we could be.'
Speaking to Empire, Emily Blunt teased: 'Definitely answers some of the questions posed in Close Encounters.'

The early verdict is in, and critics are lauding Disclosure Day as Spielberg's 'best film in 20 years'. Wow, what a claim!

And, if you needed a third opinion, someone else said: 'It's ABSOLUTELY PHENOMENAL! Truly something special. I was hanging onto every word, captivated by the story as it all played out. The score perfectly elevates every single scene. Part mystery, part Twilight Zone, something new entirely. I shed a tear at the end. WOW.'
