Smith kicked off the UK leg of his tour on Monday performing in Cardiff. The tour had seemed to be going well as the Fresh Prince star performed to 8,000 people at Scarborough Open Air Theatre on Sunday night. Smith is also set to play in Manchester, London, and Wolverhampton in the next week as part of his 'Based On a True Story' tour.
Things appeared to be going well for Smith on stage after the release of his newest studio album, however his most recent publicity stunt is not going down so well on social media.
The American actor and rapper posted a video to YouTube along with the caption 'My favourite part of tour is seeing you all up close. Thank you for seeing me too,' in hopes to promote his new tour and album. Although the video has gone viral for all of the wrong reasons.
Social media users have pointed out some visual errors in the video, such as blurred faces oddly shaped hands that appear to have six fingers, and a sign that reads 'FR6SH CRINCE.'
Another part of the video shows a man holding up a sign with blurred knuckles, the poster reads '"You Can Make It" helped me survive cancer THX Will.'
Smith has not yet come out with a statement to defend his work or to confirm or deny if he used AI in his YouTube video. Although many have accused Smith of using AI, others have defended the American actor and singer, stating that YouTube is artifically altering videos that are uploaded to the platform without the creators knowledge.
