She laid out what Musk could theoretically fund with his fortune — from tackling hunger to expanding access to clean water — and criticised him for what she described as hoarding unimaginable wealth instead of using it to address global crises. The posts quickly spread across social media, with fans praising her for “saying what everyone else is afraid to say.”
Four days later, Musk responded under a fan account’s post, dismissing her criticisms with the now-viral jab about her intelligence. It was his first direct acknowledgment of the singer’s tirade, which had already sparked widespread online debate.
The timing of the feud is notable. Musk’s net worth has surged again this year, driven by major stakes in Tesla, SpaceX, and his AI company xAI. Financial analysts have projected that, depending on how Tesla’s long-term performance targets unfold, Musk could become the world’s first trillionaire — a scenario that has reignited discussions about what responsibilities accompany extreme wealth.
Eilish’s comments tap into that wider conversation about inequality.
