The Madison, the Yellowstone spin off show is set to begin filming for a second season.
The series has been described as Paramount by "A heartfelt study of grief and human connection following a New York City family in the Madison River valley of central Montana".
Regarding casting, Entertainment Weekly had first confirmed that actor Kurt Russell will join the franchise. However, it remains unconfirmed whether Russell would be starring in the fist season, or has been signed on for a later appearance. Filming for the Madison spin off started in Montana in August 2024, before continuing in Texas in November and December that year.
Alongside Russell, Michelle Pfeiffer was also one of the first names confirmed to star in The Madison, playing the role of Stacey Clyburn, while also serving as executive producer. Russell's wife, Paige will be played by Elle Chapman, "a somewhat self-centered woman who indulges in a luxurious New York lifestyle provided by her parents and investment banker husband".
Previously speaking, Paramount Global CEO, Chris McCarthy described Michelle Pfeiffer as a "remarkable talent".
"Michelle Pfeiffer is a remarkable talent who imbues every role with emotional depth, authenticity, and grace", McCarthy stated. "She is the perfect anchor to the newest chapter of the Yellowstone universe, Madison, from the brilliant mind of Taylor Sheridan".
Suits star Patrick J Adams has also been signed up for the franchise, playing Russell McIntosh, who is an investment banker whose life has been organised before him.
Elsewhere, Beau Garrett will play Abigail Reese, recently divorced mother of two, with Amiah Miller playing her daughter. Michelle's on screen daughters will be played by Elle and Beau's characters.
Party of Five star Matthew Fox will also star in the franchise.
This comes amid rumours that Matthew McConaughey would be joining the Yellowstone franchise, starring in the Yellowstone spin off in 2024, which we now know as The Madison franchise.
Other rumours included Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes and Kelly Reilly reportedly starring in the franchise.
It had been originally described as a series which "follows wealthy matriarch Stacy Clyburn and her family as they leave New York City and head to Montana in the wake of her husband and brother-in-law’s tragic deaths in a plane crash".
The show has been renewed for a second season, despite the fact that the first season has hit our screens yet.
One thing is for certain, any future Yellowstone business will not include Kevin Costner, who will not be reprising his role as John Dutton III. More on this here.
