A music festival with a crowd of 3,500 has been confirmed for July 3rd at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham.

The event was originally scheduled to take place at the Phoenix Park but was moved to Kilmainham for what have been described as "logistical reasons."

Hosted by comedy duo The 2 Johnnies, the festival will see full sets performed by Gavin James, Denise Chaila, Lyra, Wild Youth, Sharon Shannon and Wyvern Lingo.

Attendees will be required to complete a rapid anti-gen test before entering the venue, where one metre social distancing will be in place. The event is over-18s only and those attending will be grouped in pods of four or six people.

Priced at €39.50, tickets will go on sale via Ticketmaster this Friday, June 25th at 9am.

Gavin James expressed his delight at being able to return to live performing. "I'm so happy to have been asked to perform at this gig and to be sharing the stage with all of these amazing artists," the singer said.

Catherine Martin, Minister for Tourism, Sports, Arts, Culture and Media stressed the importance of such events as a pathway back to normality. "These pilot events are critical on the road to reopening live entertainment and will help the Government to plan for the safe management of events whilst Covid is still circulating in our communities and build confidence in the guidance and event management protocols developed to keep everyone safe."
