An Australian newspaper have responded to allegations they were about to "out" Rebel Wilson before she went public with her girlfriend.

The "Bridesmaids" actress had always dated men before meeting fashion designer Ramona Agruma 6 months ago.  She posted her news on Instagram saying she "thought she was searching for a Disney Prince but maybe what she needed all this time was a Disney Princess".

On the same day she announced her news, Andrew Hornery, who is the gossip columnist at the Sydney Morning Herald, said her decision to go public on social media "gazumped his scoop" as he was just about to publish a story on it.  They gave Rebel two days notice that they were about to run the story

The newspaper's editor Bevan Shields has issued a statement denying any wrongdoing.
