Bob Dylan has been offered a cameo appearance on Coronation Street, having revealed that he has binge-watched the British soap.

Dylan had previously shared his love for the long running show during a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, revealing that when he watches it, he feels "at home".

Along with Corrie, Dylan also revealed that he is fan of the Twilight Zone science-fiction anthology, and Father Brown, the BBC detective series inspired by GK Chesterson.

Asked why he loves the show so much, Dylan told the Wall Street Journal"Coronation Street, Father Brown and some early Twilight Zones. I know they're old-fashioned shows but they make me feel at home".

"I’m no fan of packaged programmes or news shows. I never watch anything foul-smelling or evil. Nothing disgusting, nothing dog ass", he added.

"blows my mind"

Reacting to this news, producer Ian MacLeod said that the revelation regarding Dylan "blows my mind". He even hinted that Dylan could join the soap for a cameo appearance, with a special karoke performance with Ken Barlow (Bill Roach) and Rita Sullivan (Barbara Knox).

"To hear that Bob Dylan is a Coronation Street viewer blows my mind", he said. "I would absolutely love the idea of him turning up in the Rovers Return one night".

"Both he and Coronation Street established their reputations in the 1960s, both have championed working-class voices and causes, both tell stories with a particular sensibility and sense of humour", the producer added.
