Courteney Cox has become the latest household name to be honoured with a star at the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

The actress known for playing Monica Geller in popular 90s sitcom Friends, becomes the 2,570th star on the Walk of Fame, which is located at 6284 Hollywood Boulevard.

Cox was accompanied at the ceremony by her daughter Coco and partner Johnny McDaid of Snow Patrol, as well as her Friends co stars Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow, who starred as Rachel Green and Phoebe Buffay respectively.

Speaking to her directly, Aniston and Kurdrom praised Cox for her "warmth".

Accepting the award, Courteney Cox admitted that she hates speaking in public. She paid homage to her co stars, as well as partner Johnny McDaid and daughter Coco.

"Coco, you’re perfect," she said. "It’s not easy to grow up in this business, and I just want you to know you shine and you shine in your own unique light. I love you so much, I’m so proud of you. I’m proud to be your mom".

Along with several plaudits for her role in Friends, Cox also earned a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Jules Cobb in Cougar Town. Her other credits also include The Longest Yard, Bedtime Stories, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, Mr Destinym, 3000 Miles To Graceland, Coccon: The Return and others.
