Courteney Cox has called the experience of playing piano with Elton John "nerve-wracking", but also the "thrill of my life".

The actress who played Monica Geller on NBC sitcom Friends from 1994 to 2004, has revealed that she had a private lesson with her close friend Ed Sheeran to prepare for this performance with Elton John.

Cox met Sheeran through her partner and Snow Patrol guitarist and keyboardist Johnny McDaid.

She revealed that this performance came about after she invited the music legend to her home for dinner.

Cox also revealed that she had worked on her piano playing skills over lockdown.

"I learned to play in lockdown but then Ed Sheeran invited Elton John to dinner at my house and suggested we all perform together", Cox told the Graham Norton Show.

"So I called my piano teacher and 20 minutes later he was walking out as Elton was walking in", she added. "It was the scariest, most nerve-wracking thing I’ve ever done, and it was the thrill of my life".

Elsewhere, Cox also spoke to Graham Norton about reprising her role in the new Scream Movie.

"I can’t believe I am in it again and I couldn’t believe they were doing another one, but it’s great – funny, gory and really scary", she stated. "It’s just heightened. Everything in the world changed and it had to keep up – it’s relevant".
