Disgraced Oscar actor Kevin Spacey appeared in a New York court to face allegations from fellow actor Anthony Rapp, that he sexually abused him when he was just 14 years old.

This complaint had been filed by Rapp in 2020, alleging that Spacey had sexually assaulted him at a party in Mahattan in 1986, when Spacey was in his late 20s, while Rapp was 14. The Star Wars actor is seeking $40 million in damages.

Speaking to the jury, Rapp's lawyer Peter Saghir described Spacey's conduct as "unacceptable", adding that he committed these acts "intentionally to satisfy the drive of his sexual desires".

They "never should have happened", Saghir stated. "He was 14 years old".

Anthony Rapp had previously seen a criminal charge against Kevin Spacey dismissed by a judge back in 2020. Following this, he filed a civil suit.

Spacey's lawyer Jennifer Keller told the court this week that this alleged incident did not happen at all. She added that Mr Rapp "repeated the same false story (but) never repeated it to the police".

Spacey's legal team also alleged that Rapp had repeated these claims against their client, because he was seeking "attention, apathy", because he never became an international star. Keller had previously added, "We look forward to his vindication by an impartial jury".

Kevin Spacey has already entered a not guilty plea over alleged sexual assaults of three men between March 2005 and April 2013. Charges against the actor for indecent and sexual assault were also dropped by a court in Massachussetts.
