As of Wednesday, March 2, Kim Kardashian officially finalized her divorce from rapper Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, in a California court.

The ex-couple were married in 2014, but separated in December of 2020. Kardashian appeared virtually in court on Wednesday, though West was represented only by his lawyer as the divorce was finalized without objection.

This is a contradiction to Ye’s public disagreement with the separation over the last year, who has made numerous social media posts asking Kardashian to get back together.

Kardashian filed for divorce in 2021 after reports were issues in reference to the couple’s marital strife as well as West’s own battles with his mental health and bipolar disorder.

"I very much desire to be divorced," Kardashian wrote in a declaration filed to the court.

"I have asked Kanye to keep our divorce private, but he has not done so,” she added.

"I believe that the court terminating our marital status will help Kanye to accept that our marital relationship is over and to move forward on a better path which will assist us in peacefully co-parenting our children.”

The pair share four children together: North (8),, Saint (6), Chicago (4) and Psalm (2).
