Maya Jama may get to host the Brit Awards after already securing her dream job as the host of "Love Island" when Laura Whitmore stepped down.

The 28 year old left her BBC Radio 1 show in May 2020 after making the "difficult decision not to renew her contract".  She then worked as a red carper reporter at the Brit Awards earlier this year when they were hosted by comedian Mo Gilligan.

If she is chosen as the main presenter, it will be the first time they've had a solo female host since Cat Deely 19 years ago.

However, there may be a scheduling conflict as the Brits are set to take place on the 11th of February 2023, around the same time the Winter series of "Love Island" will air from South Africa.
