The Wombles star Bernard Cribbins passes away

Bernard Cribbins, the voice of "The Wombles", has passed away at the age of 93.

The children's entertainer has also starred in "The Railway Children", "Doctor Who", the "Carry On" films and "Fawlty Towers".  He continued to work into his 90's having beaten prostate cancer, a triple heart bypass and a spinal injury.

He was due to make an appearance in "Doctor Who" next year to mark it's 60th anniversary.
