Irish entrepreneur, Conor Galvin has been announced as one of the contestants on the new series of BBC One's, The Apprentice.
This comes after The Southern Star reported that Galvin is the first Cork based hopeful in the show's history, one of 20 contestants who are seeking a £250,000 investment in their business from boss Alan Sugar.
Galvin, owns the photobooth business, Press Print Paper, "creating instant, vintage-style newspaper prints with an interactive photobooth" and is keen to create a household name and has plans to expand the business into London, Manchester and Birmingham.
Speaking about his business, Galvin has said that he is "constantly learning the tougher side of strategy, structure, and scaling", despite his business being described as fun and light-hearted. The Cork native had studied medicine at university, but dropped out twice before graduating in law and business.
Speaking about the new season, which marks its 20th anniversary this year, Lord Sugar said: "There's no one thing I can put my finger on, watch out for this or watch out for that, because they're all great episodes".
"The first episode is excellent, and it was excellent because the boardroom was excellent," he continued. "The events that occurred leading up to that boardroom were very, very good because there were conflicts among a couple of candidates that really played out well.
"And if I say so myself, I think I was very good in it!".
This new series of The Apprentice, which will see the contestants begin in Hong Kong, will begin on Thursday (January 29) at 9pm, with the spin off show, The Apprentice: Unfinished Business, hosted by Angela Scanlon.
News of this comes as The Apprentice UK contestant, and businessman Jordan Dargan was confirmed to join the cast of Dancing with the Stars 2026. Find out more on this story here.
