Harry Styles has received a Gold Blue Peter badge in recognition of his musical career following his record breaking Wembley run.
The ex-One Direction singer broke the world record for the longest residency by a musician at Wembley Stadium.
Blue Peter is a British television programme created by John Hunter Blaur and is considered the longest-running children's TV show.
The Gold Blue Peter badge is given to individuals to recognise and celebrate their achievements. Styles was awarded the badge by Blue Peter presenter Shini Muthukrishnan at his twelfth Wembley Stadium show.
In a BBC press release Styles was quoted expressing his gratitude and excitement about the award. He said: “I grew up watching Blue Peter and I never thought I would get one of these…This might be my proudest achievement,” he said. “If you are watching Blue Peter, I wish you luck in all your future endeavours, keep dreaming, and treat people with kindness.”
Styles was recently awarded a Guinness World Record for the longest run of concerts at Wembley Stadium.
Previous years has seen Paul McCartney, Madonna and Ed Sheeran receive a Gold Blue Peter Badge.
McCartney was awarded the badge in 2019, and he reacted similarly to Styles. McCartney said: “That is beautiful, that’s a great badge. I will wear it with great pride. Yes! I made it!” according to NME.
